Details revealed for curvy, three-sided Memorial park condo tower

New designs for the 37-story St. Regis condos reveal a curvy three-sided tower with panoramic views of neighboring Memorial Park and River Oaks.

The developer of the St. Regis Residences, Houston have unveiled design details of the building that could break ground late next year on the banks of Buffalo Bayou.

Houston-based Satya has tapped global architecture firm Pickard Chilton to design the building, which is expected to bring the first all-residential St. Regis Residences to Texas at a 3.8-acre site at 102 Asbury, just south of Memorial Drive. The brand is frequently paired with a hotel, but that will not be the case in Houston.

Rising about 510 feet, it will be the second standalone residential tower under the Marriott International umbrella to come to Texas. The 111-unit Ritz-Carlton Residences broke ground in The Woodlands this year.

The St. Regis property will feature the brand's signature butler services, 24/7 valet parking and concierge services, and rituals such as afternoon tea and signature Bloody Mary cocktail invented at the St. Regis New York 90 years ago.

"Everything you want is at your fingertips," said Sunny Bathija, CEO of Satya and owner and developer of the project. "People like relating to a good brand. They know they can get a certain standard."

The tower, which will have 93 units of 2,000 square feet to more than 5,000 square feet, is designed with three sides with views of downtown, Memorial Park and River Oaks. Residences, which will have terraces with pet stations, will be on the 10th floor and above and start at $2.4 million.

"The St. Regis Residences Houston's curvilinear form is inspired by the Buffalo Bayou, which defines the site on two sides," Adrienne Nelson, design principal at Pickard Chilton, said in announcement. "The tower's form echos the flow of water, with ripples along the facade that pull back to reveal terraces with unobstructed views."

There will be five penthouses: three two-story residences on floors 36 and 37 and two on the 35th floor, ranging from 4,500 to 6,000 square feet.

ForrestPerkins will design the building's interior spaces including a media room and theater, coworking space, guest suites and conference rooms on the eighth floor and a lounge with a catering kitchen and dining room on the ninth floor. A double-height terrace on the 25th floor will have a private dining room, Cognac Bar and Astor Boardroom named for the family that founded the St. Regis.

"We have taken inspiration from Houston's rich oil history with the use of rich bronze and gold colors representing both luxury and industry," said Colletta Conner, managing principal at ForrestPerkins.

The property will have a private entry to the future Buffalo Bayou Trail that will extend west toward Memorial Park. Among the indoor and outdoor amenities are a lap pool, cold plunge pools, steam rooms, saunas and locker rooms, spa and treatment rooms, a meditation garden and yoga studio.

Construction is expected to begin in the third or fourth quarter of 2025. Satya hopes to sell 50% of the units before starting construction, which will take 26 to 30 months. A sales trailer with showroom displaying finishes and designs will open near the site in December or January.
