BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- The Baltimore City Fire Department battled a five-alarm building fire on Sunday, according to Fire Chief Wallace.
Wallace says on September 22 around 9:26 a.m., crews were dispatched for reports of a building fire in the area of Lombard and Eutaw Street.
Upon arrival, Wallace says there was heavy smoke showing.
The fire immediately went to a two-alarm by 9:33 a.m. By 9:40, it went to a three-alarm, by 9:51 it went to a four-alarm, and then it hit a five-alarm at 10:00 a.m.
Five commercial buildings have been impacted and one residential apartment, according to the Chief.
Wallaces says well over 200 firefighters were working to extinguish the massive flames. The fire has been placed under control.
So far, there have been no reported injuries.
It's too soon to say whether all of the buildings impacted by the fire are total losses, but the damage is significant.
