NORTHFIELD -- Atlantic County veterans in need of short-term rehabilitation services covered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs may now receive those services at the county's Meadowview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, county officials said Monday.
Effective Tuesday, Meadowview has been approved to accept veterans through the VA's Community Care Network for rehabilitation services of 100 days or less, county Executive Dennis Levinson said in a news release. Those services may include physical therapy, speech and occupational therapy.
Applications will be submitted through the VA to determine eligibility. Upon approval, they will be shared with Meadowview staff to confirm the facility's ability to accommodate the patient's needs, the county said.
"We will have a social worker, clinical staff and our VA Coordinator working with the veterans and their families to ensure positive outcomes," Levinson said. "We hope to enjoy the same success we have had with our long-term care for veterans within our 30-bed Veterans Wing," which the county introduced last year.
