PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- One driver is dead and another was hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash near Mulino in Clackamas County Wednesday evening.
Just after 5 p.m., Oregon State Troopers responded to reports of a crash on HWY 213 near milepost 10.5.
On arrival, they found out a Mazda had been driving southbound when it crossed into the northbound lanes driving along a curve.
The Mazda then hit a pickup driving in the northbound lane, officials said.
The impact of that crash caused the pickup to turn into the southbound lane and crash head-on into an SUV, authorities said.
The driver of the Mazda, identified as 54-year-old Delfino Navarro, was airlifted to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police say Navarro is also believed to be associated with a driving complaint reported a few minutes before the crash.
The driver of the SUV was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
