BOONVILLE -- The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons improved to 2-1 in Tri-County Conference play with Thursday's 6-0 victory against the Boonville Lady Pirates.
Ava Willson struck out 12 batters, pitching a three-hit shutout for the Lady Falcons. She walked just one batter and threw 64 of her 93 pitches for strikes.
Lydia Sullens started the scoring for Blair Oaks with an RBI double in the first inning. Willson scored on a fielder's choice in the fourth for a 2-0 lead.
In a three-run fifth inning, Belle Boessen had an RBI double, Alyssa Reinkemeyer had an RBI groundout and Emma Caldwell hit an RBI single. Sullens drove in the last Blair Oaks run with an RBI groundout in the seventh.
Willson went 3-for-3 with three singles to lead a 13-hit attack. Addison Kusgen, Boessen and Avery Libbert each had two hits.
Blair Oaks (6-8) plays two games today in the Lady Jays Classic at the American Legion Post 5 Sports Complex. The Lady Falcons play Ozark at 1 p.m. and South Harrison at 5 p.m.
Boonville won Thursday night's JV game 6-5.
