"That's what great players do," Boston International coach Edmar Varela said. "What a way to make it up. You miss one, you stay in the game, you find a way to make it up."
The Lions dominated possession and chances, but TechBoston took a 1-0 lead in the second minute when Yevegueny Glemaud scored a penalty kick after a handball in the box.
The Bears staved off a barrage of Boston International chances, including Dilbert's penalty effort in the 50th minute, which was saved by senior goalie Marven Louis.
The Lions drew level in the 63rd minute on a perfectly placed strike by junior Jerry Registe, who found a window and curled the ball in from the left side of the box. But the Bears re-took the lead nine minutes later when junior Doodley Durandis found the back of the net.
With its back against the wall in stoppage time, Boston International equalized again with a penalty kick from Registe.
Dilbert sealed it just two minutes into overtime with a strike into the bottom left corner of the net.
"We just found a way," said Varela. "It's unreal. We always find a way."
In the semifinals, the Lions will face No. 4 Dearborn STEM (8-8-5), the team Boston International defeated in the Boston City League championship game on Oct. 26.
