Gardner Minshew injured: 'It doesn't look good'

Bill Williamson is the site manager of Silver and Black Pride. He has covered the NFL since 1996 and he has covered the Raiders since 2008.

The Las Vegas Raiders have another injury at quarterback.

Gardner Minshew injured his left should on sack late in a 29-19 loss at home to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. He was replaced by Desmond Ridder.

After the game, Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce said early indications are that Minshew's injury "doesn't look good."

The Raiders play Friday at the Kansas City Chiefs on a short week. Perhaps Aidan O'Connell, who replaced Minshew as the starter, will be ready to return from a broken thumb. He is now eligible to come back from the injured reserve.

If O'Connell isn't ready to face the Chiefs, Ridder will likely start and the Raiders could promote Carter Bradley from the practice squad.

There is also Daniel Jones. The former New York Giants starter is expected to clear waivers Monday and become a free agent. Sunday morning, NFL Media reported the Raiders are expected to pursue Jones and perhaps give him a chance to audition to be a bridge starter for 2025 down the stretch this season. However, other reports indicated he wants to sign with a contender.

Either way, the flux at the most important position on the field continues for the Raiders.
