LSU Forward Could Be Caitlin Clark's New Teammate

There was plenty of focus on Sunday about the order at top of the 2025 WNBA Draft when the Dallas Wings earned the No. 1 pick through the WNBA Draft Lottery.

UConn star Paige Bueckers is widely regarded as the top prospect for the Wings to choose from, but further down the draft board, the Indiana Fever have been left with a more difficult decision.

Sunday's lottery gave the Fever the eighth overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, narrowing the options for who the franchise can pair with 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark and new head coach Stephanie White.

All of a sudden, it's a strong possibility that the former Iowa Hawkeye will be sharing the floor with an old college foe from LSU.

With top college prospects like Bueckers, USC's Kiki Iriafen and Notre Dame's Olivia Miles likely off the board by No. 8, ESPN's latest 2025 WNBA Mock Draft has the Fever selecting LSU forward Aneesah Morrow.

Morrow, a 6-foot-1 forward, transferred to LSU before the 2023-2024 season. Fresh off of the Tigers' 2023 NCAA Championship, which came by beating Clark's Iowa in the final, she joined forces with Angel Reese to form a nearly formidable frontcourt duo.

Last season, Reese (27) and Morrow (21) were the only teammates in women's college basketball to record more than 20 double-doubles. Morrow had 14 points and 14 rebounds in LSU's Elite Eight loss to Iowa that saw Clark get her revenge for 2023.

As far as Morrow's fit with the Fever, ESPN's Michael Voepel pointed out the "potential for Morrow as a player who could run the floor well and be another target for Caitlin Clark's passes."

The current LSU star proved she could lead a college team during her first two seasons at DePaul University, finishing top 10 in the nation in both scoring and rebounding her sophomore year.

Her production didn't drop at a higher level in the SEC next to a star like Reese. That's a green flag for the Fever front office, since Morrow would be in a similar scenario if she joined Indiana's All-Star center Aliyah Boston as teammates alongside Clark.

There's a long way to go until the 2025 WNBA Draft, but the potential for another chapter to be written in the Iowa-LSU saga is very real.
