How to Visit the Amazing Waterfall House in New York

"Waterfall House" gets its name for obvious - and amazing - reasons (John Kucko Digital via Facebook)

There's a property in New York that has to be seen to be believed... have you visited the "waterfall house"?

There's no shortage of amazing real estate in the Empire State, but some still stand out from the rest. While the most expensive listing in Dutchess County and the Newburgh, NY property with its own movie theater and batting cages are impressive, Waterfall House is in a league of its own.

Waterfall House is part epic property and part optical illusion. The structure, located in Montour Falls, NY, was built in the 1800s and has been featured in television shows like the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries (below).

The most impressive feature of the house, of course, is that it seems as if a raging waterfall is directly in its backyard. While in reality the waterfall is farther behind the property (and the waterfall is generally not as full as in the video below), the uniqueness of the home is enough to draw visitors from near and far.

"This is about 4 blocks from my house in Montour. I find it amazing that the house has never been hit by a flood", said one commenter. "We went there a few months ago - so majestic!" shared another.

The waterfall, named Shequaga Falls, can be found (and visited) in Montour Falls, NY in Schuyler County. Shequaga Falls Park, which is next to Waterfall House, can be visited at 109 S Genesee Street. Check out more amazing New York properties below.
