Someone gave us a fancy (Frontgate brand), nine-foot, artificial Christmas tree. We plan to use only the upper three segments to make a seven foot-tall tree, and set the bottom segment aside.
The "trunk" is a steel pipe that appears to be 1-3/8" across: I stood it up in some ordinary 1-1/2" inner diameter PVC in my tree stand, and it wobbles freely side to side. Does anyone sell some kind of pipe that's 1-3/8" I.D., or should I find a way to make the existing piece of pipe fatter (by wrapping it in aluminum tape or something)?
I really don't care about the material, I just know that I can cut PVS or ABS to length with the saws I own.
