The Dodgers still have five more Cactus League games remaining to play in Arizona, but the focus will soon shift to the Tokyo Series, during which the Dodgers will face the Cubs for two regular season games on March 18-19.
Wednesday is when the Dodgers will fly to Japan, and they will play exhibition games against the Yomiuri Giants and Hanshin Tigers on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon in Tokyo time. But for us back in the U.S., those games are both on Saturday.
The Dodgers' schedule of games in Japan has a similar feel to last year's trip to Seoul, with three of the four games at an absurdly early start in the Pacific time zone:
For folks in the Los Angeles area, all four games will be televised by SportsNet LA, and the exhibition game against Yomiuri will also be on MLB Network nationally. The games against the Cubs will also be televised by Fox Sports, with the Tuesday game on Fox and Wednesday on FS1.
Even for folks on the east coast, those two games against the Cubs are very early. But it might require multiple alarms for those of use out west.
Will you get up early to watch live, or will you wake up at a relatively normal time and fire up the DVR? Or might you skip the watching altogether and just catch the highlights later, or perhaps read the recap at your favorite website?
