TWIN FALLS -- With the way the Tigers can hang around in close games, the Bruins knew they needed to start fast and put the game away early.

A 15-4 start to the game turned into a 26-8 lead in the second quarter and then a running clock for the final minutes for Twin Falls fifth straight win in the Battle of the Bridge.
"I think it was really important," senior Ryker Rex told the Times-News. "Because they can just get hot."
Rex scored a game-high 18 points and knocked down four 3-pointers, while Trey Billings also finished in double figures with 10.
Nine Twin Falls players scored a point.
Seth Capps led the Tigers with nine points.
In a nonconference schedule where the Bruins battled Utah schools and 5A and 6A Idaho schools, Twin Falls learned they needed to be more physical and tougher on the defensive end.
A lesson the Bruins put to use set Friday as they held Jerome to its fewest points in a game since a 70-23 loss at Preston on Jan. 25, 2020. If Twin Falls wasn't making life hard on the Tigers ball handlers, they were collapsing inside to cut off clean driving lanes.
"Just trying to communicate and be physical with them," Rex said about the defense. "And just talk everything."
Twin Falls never trailed and the latest they had a single digit lead was when Capps split a pair of free throws to cut the lead to 17-8 with 7:21 in the second quarter. The Bruins knocked down three 3-pointers in a row after that to basically put the game out of reach. Twin Falls swished eight triples compared to just one for Jerome.
The Bruins opened GBC play with two wins by a combined 53 points. They've advanced to the state tournament each of the last two seasons, but haven't won a conference championship since 2015.
