Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith was prepared to throw in the towel but was ultimately saved by Channel 4 bosses.
The iconic judge, who replaced Mary Berry, has been a much loved staple on the programme since 2017. However, last year she actually tried to quit after deciding she needed a summer holiday, instead of taking part in intense filming.
However, Channel 4 chiefs were keen to ensure that Paul Hollywood's partner in crime on the show maintained her role. Prue was happy to continue as a judge on the non celebrity version but didn't believe that her request would ever be honoured.
The television personality was therefore ready to give it all up but was saved by bosses who allowed her to step down from the star-studded version but maintain her role on the original programme.

After being probed by ITV's Lorraine about her wanting to quit and then being reprimanded by the host, Prue candidly confessed: "Listen, I'll tell you. I thought I wanted to leave Bake Off because I had no idea that they'd allow me to just drop one."
Lorraine chimed in: "Ahh because you do the celeby one now?" Prue shot back: "I don't do the celebrity one, I went to them and said I want to leave because I'm getting really old and I have to have a summer where I can go on holiday and see the grandkids and all of that."
Prue added: "They [producers] said 'You don't have to leave all together, why don't you just drop one of them?' And I didn't know I could do that."
Later on in the programme, Lorraine challenged the foodie expert with trying the viral Coca-Cola drink that singer Dua Lipa had been promoting online. The pint glass sat in front of them both on the ITV daytime favourite - containing the iconic fizzy pop, along with jalapenos and pickle juice.
Lorraine asked: "This is the viral drink that Dua Lipa has been promoting, will you try it with me?" Double-checking it's contents, Prue nodded as she quizzed if it was "diet cola".
After the Scottish host confirmed that it was, she took a large gulp first begging her guest: "Actually, please don't try it, it's awful."
Despite Lorraine's warning, the Channel 4 star gulped it down, telling her it would be more drinkable if it contained a dash of "vinegar" to balance the overall sweetness which baffled the ITV host.
