Patriots safety leaves matchup vs. Titans in second quarter with injury

The New England Patriots have struggled to keep their safeties on the field this season, as they entered Sunday's matchup against the Tennessee Titans without Kyle Dugger (due to injury) and Jabrill Peppers (due to legal issues).

Without both of their starters, the Patriots began the contest with Jaylinn Hawkins and Marte Mapu as their top guys, but Mapu suffered a neck injury in the second quarter. The team announced that he's questionable to return.

If Mapu can't play again on Sunday, New England will have to use Dell Pettus and Brenden Schooler, who are typically special teamers, more on defense.

Considering the Patriots have already struggled in the middle of their defense, this loss could hurt even more.
