Despite their loss, Ole Miss saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tre Harris, who picked up 176 receiving yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Dart, who threw for 261 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Ole Miss' defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Suntarine Perkins with two.
South Carolina's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Ole Miss, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. South Carolina has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 194 rushing yards a game.
