Community invited to information sessions on Green Bay's $183 million school referendum

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Green Bay residents will have a chance to learn more about a $183 million facilities referendum proposal.

The Green Bay Area Public School District Board of Education approved a $183 million facilities referendum question to be added to the Nov. 5 ballot.

Members of the community are invited to attend community information sessions to learn more about the referendum.

6 p.m. I Lombardi Middle School Commons | 1520 S. Point Road

6 p.m. | Baird Elementary School Commons | 539 Laverne Drive

12 p.m. | District Office Building Board Room | 200 S. Broadway Street

6 p.m. | Edison Middle School Auditorium | 442 Alpine Drive

The November 2024 Referendum enhances safety and security at secondary schools; addresses deferred maintenance projects at several elementary schools (HVAC, fire alarm and electrical systems, roofs, ADA compliance issues, etc.); and provides equitable, efficient and appropriate learning environments for students and staff at the consolidated schools.

The district will have paid off a significant portion of the November 2022 Referendum allowing an opportunity for the district to borrow funds, while maintaining the current mill rate, and improving students' educational experiences.
