New internet provider now available in Trotwood

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) -- With the arrival of altafiber, Trotwood residents will soon have access to fiber-optic internet services.

On Wednesday, the City of Trotwood announced the arrival of altafiber, a leading provider of fiber-optic internet. Through altafiber's expansion into the city, the company will bring its multi-gig XGS-PON fiber network to approximately 10,000 homes and businesses in Trotwood.

"We are thrilled to welcome altafiber to our community," said Trotwood City Manager Quincy E. Pope. "This investment in our city's infrastructure is a game-changer. altafiber's fiber-optic network will empower residents and businesses with the speed and bandwidth they need to thrive in today's digital world."

Offering internet speeds ranging from 400 Mbps to 6 Gbps, altafiber's fiber network will allow Trotwood to connect to the world in new ways. Construction will begin in 2025 with altafiber anticipating completion in 2026.

Altafiber previously built a new facility in Franklin to reach more customers in the Miami Valley. Their services are available in Centerville and Kettering.
