High surf warning for South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast for Tuesday and Wednesday - breaking waves of 25 to 30 feet foreseen

A high surf warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 2:01 p.m. valid from Tuesday 10 a.m. until Wednesday 4 p.m. for South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast.

"Dangerously large breaking waves of 25 to 30 feet," describes the weather service. "The largest breaking waves are expected along south facing shorelines, such as the beaches near Brookings, Port Orford, and Cape Blanco."

"Extremely large breaking waves will create very hazardous conditions along beaches and area shorelines. Waves will inundate beaches, push large logs up the beach, and surge into normally dry areas. Infrastructure damage and significant beach erosion can be expected," states the weather service. "Beaches and coastlines will become hazardous due to very large and life-threatening surf conditions. Stay off of beaches, rocks, jetties, piers, and other waterside infrastructure."
